It's Spring 2019! Are Your Roads Posted?

Mud season is here and posted roads happen every spring! We’re starting to see posted road signs out on telephone poles throughout Androscoggin County.

Keep in mind posted roads are on a town-by-town basis. If you’re thinking about having aggregates delivered to your worksite be sure we can get there. Typically, all the roads in the Greater Lewiston-Auburn area become available for heavy loads around May 1st. Main roads have a better chance of being OK for heavy loads.

MaineDOT evaluates potential damage to State and State-Aid highways due to freeze-thaw action.   They’ll determine whether weight restrictions should be imposed to prevent further damage.

So check in with your town to be sure the roads around your delivery site are good for heavy loads before ordering your aggregates from St. Laurent and Son.
